Day 3 of the 42nd Newport International Boat Show was the busiest yet. It’s a sure sign of things changing in Rhode Island and the Boating Industry.

Our day started with a lovely breakfast hosted by Rhode Island Marine Trade Association at the Newport Yacht Club. During the meeting two very influential individuals in the Rhode Island Boating community were honored by RIMTA & the governor for their work with promoting sailing here in the ocean state. Brad Reed, Executive Director of Sail Newport, was honored for his hard work organizing the America’s Cup World Series races here in Newport this past summer, and of course, the excellent work he has done to grow Sail Newport to what it is now. Ken Reed, Skipper on the Puma Ocean Racing boat Mar Mostro, was honored for his achievements in racing and building the Puma boat (built by all Rhode Island companies). We are pleased to be members of RIMTA and appreciate our invitation to all the years past events by Tricia Yeoman or Nautor’s Swan, here in Newport. To see more about RIMTA and what it offers companies in the marine trades here in Rhode Island please visit their website at RIMTA . To see more about Newport’s Nautor’s Swan office, please visit Tricia & Keith Yeoman at Nautor Swan USA East . You can visit Tricia & Keith at the show on Sunday at the Oldport Dock M-15 and take a tour of the Swan Sea Star they have on display.

We had the pleasure of catching up with James Strohacker of Becket & Company. Becket & Company is a yacht management company that provided owners with a turn-key boating experience. James & his team work with their customers to provide a seamless boating experience. They help with everything from provisioning, yacht maintenance and deliveries, to ‘confidence on the water’ instructions, helping the owner and his family to work together and enjoy their boat. They also provide a consultation service for boat buying, selling and refits. Be sure to visit James & his crew at NYC Tent G Booth 51 or visit their site at Becket & Company .

Today’s show had an incredibly high attendance and we took full advantage of it by spreading the Boatshed word to everyone we saw. We had a record breaking Fizz @ 5 today with over 175 guests spending time in our booth looking at our inventory. A total of 22 bottles of Fizz was shared and enjoyed by all who stopped in to say hello.

We rounded out our day with the Cruising Out Post After party. After catching up with our friends and having a little pizza & beer we wrapped it up to prepare for tomorrow’s final day of the show.

Please be sure to stop by and say hello. You’ll find us in NYC Tent C Booth 33. As always check out of site at Boatshed Newport . We will be hosting our final Fizz Party tomorrow afternoon at 4pm as the show will be closing at 5. Come on by and join us, as it’s always 5 o’clock somewhere!!!!
