An Easter egg is a secret message or hidden feature in a film, book or in computer software. The idea is that once you know there is one to be found, you may hunt for it the way you would look for eggs in an Easter egg hunt.

I’ve not yet found any in books or films but the first one I found in software was the hidden flight simulator video game in Microsoft Excel 1997. You tend to find out about them by word of mouth and need to type in the correct command so that they reveal themselves. A simple one that I’ve just discovered is that if you request directions (walking) from The Shire to Mordor using Google Maps, the software responds, “Use caution – One does not simply walk into Mordor.”

I wish I had the technology to produce something as clever and fun for the Boatshed site, but all I can offer in the way of an Easter egg hunt are some hints on how to discover some boats for sale that are reduced in price.

This Leisure 29 is now £13,500

The Leisure 29 is a capable sea going yacht with good performance; described in the original brochure as fast and sleek they still look modern by today’s standards. They were also very sturdy, the hulls have foam ribs and stingers making for an exceptionally strong hull. Plus they are double lined too so no head lining problems!

Our broker Steve says, “The boat is a really nice example and comes with a 19hp diesel engine - fitted in 2003 - but as you will see from the photographs it looks even newer.”

This Hanse 430 Shoal Draft is now £139,995

This modern performance cruiser has looks that reflect the racing background of the designers. The twin wheels and open transom are the most obvious features; and although performance is a key design factor the Hanse 430 has also been built with cruising in mind. The stylish interior is very modern in design, and has all the features required for cruising in comfort.

This Sealine F33 Flybridge is now £79,995

This F33 is in great condition inside and out, and the engines have done less than 300hrs.

These deservedly popular motor cruisers have a spacious interior with a good sized galley and saloon area. They have a large owners cabin forward and another double cabin to starboard forward of the helm.
The Volvo AD31P Diesel engines give good economy and performance with a cruising speed of 18knots and a max speed of approximately 24 knots.

I hope you enjoy hunting around our site for Easter bargains! There’s something about an impending bank holiday weekend that makes me dream of getting out on the water.
