I have been involved with boats all of my life. I started messing about on the river Thames at an early age in a heron dinghy. When we moved to East Anglia the dinghies were replaced by day boats, racing and cruising around the Broads. As I've grown so have the cruising grounds - sailing in the Mediterranean, British Virgin Islands and currently much closer to home off the East Coast of England out of Shotley Marina near Ipswich where I keep my pride and joy enjoying our enchanting coastline.  

My other love is land based - I'm definitely a petrol head and enjoy drag racing, motor cycle track days, formula one racing in fact anything with 2 or more wheels that can be/is raced around a circuit I am interested in it. I enjoy old cars and have restored a couple of MGB’s, when I look back on it was good fun (but now I know why I haven’t any hair left - the odd bit of stress).
Which brings me back to boats, something that's always been there throughout my life; I'm sure most of you will agree with me when I say that sailing is the most relaxing sport I know (at least it is, the way I do it!). My wife and I get so much pleasure from a day’s sailing that we're always smiling when aboard the boat or even when doing jobs from that never ending 'to do' list.

To bring boats into my working life, becoming the owner of Boatshed Suffolk last year was a completely natural path, blending the skills and knowledge developed and honed from a long and varied career working in sales and the service industry. I started as a sales trainee and progressed to the dizzy heights of sales manager. I have learnt that the customer has high expectations in the level of service required which is provided in a professional manner at all times, giving advice when needed.

Although based in the Orwell area I am busy the length and breadth of Suffolk, look out for me walking the boards, in the car or on the water. Wherever I am I will be happy to spend time with you talking about boats, related topics and how our service could benefit you.
